60 Seconds Q&A with Nicola

Why did you decide to work in the law?

I studied law at college because it slotted nicely into my timetable! I had no idea whether or not I would enjoy it, but I’ve never looked back. I went on to study Law at University having got the “bug” and took the first role I was offered once I had completed my degree. I then started working with the corporate team at Everyman Legal, and I was worried that corporate/commercial law would be really impersonal and, well, corporate! But in fact it’s great fun. To really help our clients we have to know the ins and outs of their business, as well as their personal goals and objectives, which means it’s a constant learning curve and a great insight into so many different industries and markets.

What’s the first thing you do when you get into the office?

Get a glass of water. Perhaps the only lawyer not to have a coffee/cup of tea to kick start the morning!

What was your best holiday?

An amazing trip to celebrate the end of my degree. We started in LA, visiting Hollywood, Santa Monica Beach, and shopping on Rodeo Drive, before heading to Maui. Maui is by far the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen and I hope one day (soon!) I get the opportunity to go back!

3 things your friends would say about you?

In order to make this a fair (and honest!) answer, I actually asked my friends…

Straight to the point (but in a good way!). Always keeps to her word and you know you will get an honest answer!

Loyal  – always there no matter what and will never miss the moments that matter.

Organised – a definite fan of lists (for literally everything)! Although can find organising social events stressful when people don’t play ball!

What time does your alarm go off?

It varies. The key question should be how many times the snooze button gets pressed!
